Jeera dal

Ingredients:

1 cup toor dal
1 cup masur dal
½ cup onions
¼ cup tomatoes
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
6 flakes garlic
Curry leaves
2 green chilies
2 red chilies
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
5tsp oil
2 cups water
1 tsp turmeric powder

Direction:

In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and lightly fry the two dal’s, and boil with adding turmeric powder, green chilies tomatoes into the same unit and place on low heat. After boiling make a smooth paste. Add water and salt. Simmer till the water begins to gently bubble, Remove from heat and add the seasoning. For the seasoning, heat the pan and add ghee /oil followed by the mustard seeds, red chilies, chopped garlic flakes, and chopped onions, curry leaves, cumin seeds. Fry on low heat till golden brown, pour the seasoning over the dal. Stir and sprinkle with coriander leaves. Keep covered for a few minutes before serving.
