Tomato Rasam:
Ingredients:
Toor dal (Boiled) -1/2 cup
Tomatoes paste-6
lady fingers-3
Tamarind pulp-1/4cup
coriander leaves-1/2 cup
Drum stick-1
Green chillies-3
Turmeric powder-1/sp
Salt to taste
Sugar-1 1/2
grated coconut-2sp
sambar powder-1sp
For seasoning:
Mustard seeds-1/2sp
Cumin seeds-1/2sp
Fenugreek seeds
Garlic flakes-3
Red chillies-3
Curry leaves-1sp
Onions-1/4 cup
Oil-2sp
Direction:
In a pan add boiled toor dal, tomato paste, tamarind pulp, green chillies, turmeric, lady fingers(Bhendi),drum sticks, and place on low heat, leave for 10 minutes till the vegetables to boil. Add sugar, sambar powder, grated coconut and salt to taste. Now the rasam was ready for seasoning, in a pan add oil followed by the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies, fenugreek seeds, garlic, onions and curryleaves.fry well, now add rasam, and boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the stove, and add coriander leaves. Now the tomato rasam is ready to serve.
